Rev Dr
Segun Jayesimi Profile.
The
Background.
Rev Adesegun Bamidele Jayesimi was born at Baptist
Hospital, Ogbomoso on Tuesday 26th of November 1963 by 6pm into the
family of Rev L.O.C Jayesimi (Late) and Madam Felicia Amope Jayesimi of
Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State.
He started his formal education at Pre-Religious Education
Centre of Baptist Seminary, Ogbomoso. He went to Ijeru Baptist Primary School,
Ogbomoso (1976). He went to Abusi Odumare
Academy, Ijebu-Igbo for Secondary Education(1982). He went to Nigerian Baptist
Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso where he obtained Bachelor Of Theology (1988)
and Master of Art in Theological Studies (2000).
He obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Education at
University of Ibadan (1994). He also obtained Master of Education in Guidance
and Counselling at University of Lagos (1996).
He further obtained Post Graduate Diploma in Ministry at
Ministry Training Institute, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (2003). He obtained his
Doctoral Degree in Pastoral Counselling at ECWA Theological Seminary, Igbaja
where he participated in academic exchange with Liverpool Hope University,
Liverpool in United Kingdom (2013). He also attended Andrew Walls Conference in
Liverpool.
Family
Life
He is married to Rev Adenike Idowu Jayesimi nee Oredipe at
First Baptist Church, Ijebu-Ode on July 13, 1991. Mrs Nike Jayesimi obtained
Diploma in Theology, B.Ed & M.Ed in Guidance and Counselling. She is a
great supporter of her husband Ministry.
The Lord blessed the family with loving Children.

Pastoral
Ministry
Rev Segun Jayesimi began his pastoral ministry as Student
pastor at Goldie & Moon Baptist Churches, Ogbomoso. Ayegun, Olorisa and
Obidiran Baptist Churches at Ibadan.
Opete and Idi-Oro Baptist Churches, Ogbomoso. (1984-88).
He began full Time Ministry at College Baptist Church now
Alma Rohm Baptist Church, Iwo (July 1988-October 1993). He became pastor of
Mushin Baptist Church, Lagos on 1st of November, 1993 till March 2008. Rev
Jayesimi is passionate with evangelism and thus led the Church in many
opportunities to save souls. He led the Church to plant the following Churches:
Ife Oluwa Baptist Church, Ota, Ogun State, Ore Ofe BC Oluwo, Ogun State, Grace
BC, Ekile, Benue State, Immanuel BC Oko Afo, Lagos State and Bethel BC Ijaliye,
Ogun State. He also led the Church to support weak Churches and thus partner
with Ibukun Oluwa BC Aga Ikorodu in engaging the services of a pastor on
disengagement programme between 1997-2000.
He encourages one to one personal witnessing and thus made
the Church to go out for witnessing. A group goes out every Sunday for
witnessing.He also encourages the Church to visit Mission fields like Etche,
Idoma and so on. One of the visits gave birth to Grace BC Ekile.
Extra
Church Services.
Rev Jayesimi served as Evangelism and Minister's Chairman
for Gideon Baptist Association. He served as the First Moderator and Adviser of
Gideon One Baptist Association. He served as Chairman of Ethics Committee of
Gideon Association, Secretary, Ethics Committee and Chairman Welfare Committee
of Lagos Baptist Ministers' Fellowship. He also served as Chairman Counselling
Department of Lagos Baptist Conference.
He also taught as part time Lecturer at Baptist College of
Theology, Isolo, Lagos.
Rev Jayesimi is a Pastor, Teacher, Counsellor, Mentor, and
Spiritual Father.
Conference President
He assumed the office of President for Ogun Baptist
Conference on 1st of April, 2008. The Conference has experienced
balanced growth. This is evidenced in stewardship, Church growth, discipleship,
Mission and evangelism. Many Churches have been started by The
Conference, Associations and Churches which include Jubilee BC, Ijebu-Ode,
United BC Ayetoro, Praise BC, Ibafo and many others.
